SEED
Saturday, October 10 - Sunday, Nov 29
Seed emerges from a dialogue between material, landscape and care. Collecting native seed has brought a new awareness through which Josephine Duffy explores a passage of time and the politics of the seed. This exhibition expands her interdisciplinary practice through a series of large-scale drawings and installations of dry point etchings. The labour of collecting and archiving seed mirrors the physical discipline of printmaking, revealing patterns, textures and rhythms that recur throughout her work. For Duffy this process carries a sense of mysticism - a personal magical sense of a place. Through gathering, preserving and observing what might otherwise be overlooked, Duffy creates a practice grounded in participation and hope.
